F1NDX™ has released Crypto Scam Investigations: Tracing the Money Trail, a training course covering the investigative process behind cryptocurrency scams. This release also marks the start of a training partnership with Intelligence for Good, a nonprofit that pursues justice for victims of internet-enabled crimes such as romance scams, cryptocurrency scams, and call center scams.
Intelligence for Good works by connecting data from victims, businesses, and open source research to build investigative leads that support both prosecution and recovery efforts. Their team includes experienced threat intelligence professionals and academic researchers, and their ScamBusters program already gives university students hands-on experience investigating cryptocurrency scams. Their mission to disrupt cybercrime through intelligence-driven investigation is one F1NDX™ directly supports, and becoming their training partner reflects that alignment.
This course walks through how scam operations function, how to set up a secure investigative environment, and how to trace transactions and visualize money flows using open-source intelligence. It closes with documentation and reporting practices aligned with what investigators and authorities actually need to act on a case.
